LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A 42-year-old Pahrump man died following a single-vehicle crash on State Route 160 on Thursday, July 2, at approximately 11:35 a.m.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident occurred northbound at mile marker 32. A preliminary investigation revealed that a white 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling in the No. 1 lane when it veered onto the left shoulder and collided with a median cable barrier.
Authorities found the driver, identified as Dustin Yager, unresponsive at the scene. Emergency medical services provided aid, and Yager was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead; the cause of death is still pending.
The crash is under investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team. Officials reported that 34 fatal crashes resulting in 37 fatalities have occurred statewide in 2026. The data remains preliminary and may change as investigations and coroner reports are finalized.
