Deer Causes Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95
CRANSTON, R.I. — A multi-vehicle accident occurred early Saturday morning on I-95 northbound after a deer was spotted on the highway, according to Rhode Island State Police.
The incident took place around 3:54 a.m. near the Route 10 exit. A driver swerved to avoid the deer, colliding with the highway's low-speed barrier and subsequently rolling into the second lane. The driver exited the vehicle without injuries.
Shortly after the initial crash, a tractor-trailer struck the unoccupied vehicle. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
The northbound lanes of I-95 were closed for approximately 40 minutes while the scene was cleared. Rhode Island State Police continue to manage the area.
