Motorcyclist Killed in I-35 Crash in Clarke County
NEW VIRGINIA, Iowa — A motorcyclist died in a crash on I-35 in Clarke County Wednesday evening, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The incident occurred between the New Virginia exit and the exit five miles north of Osceola. Authorities reported that a motorcycle collided with a trailer being towed.
The motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Jordan James Wilson from Des Moines, was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders were dispatched immediately.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not reported any additional injuries or ongoing hazards from the collision.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, 175 people have died on Iowa roads this year, an increase of 19 compared to the same time last year. The past five years have seen an average of 337 fatalities annually statewide.
