LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash on I-264 Tuesday morning.
According to police, a tractor-trailer was traveling east near Breckinridge Lane when it was struck from behind by a motorcycle around 4:15 a.m. The impact caused both vehicles to lose control, crashing into a concrete barrier and ultimately colliding with a construction sign trailer.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was unharmed. The accident prompted lane closures on I-264 for several hours.
Shortly thereafter, a separate three-vehicle crash occurred in the westbound lanes of I-64 at mile-marker 20.5, just east of the Gene Snyder Freeway, further delaying morning traffic.
Emergency services responded to both incidents, and investigations are ongoing.
