LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A 32-year-old man suffered critical injuries in a moped accident early Tuesday morning in west Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD), the incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road. The rider was reported down, prompting emergency response to the scene.

Officers found the man with life-threatening injuries and transported him to a local hospital. Investigators believe the moped was traveling west on Sahara Avenue when it struck the center median, causing the rider to be thrown from the vehicle.
