Missouri Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Taylor County
TAYLOR COUNTY, Iowa — A 41-year-old man died Monday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Colt Avenue and 310th Street.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred just before 4 p.m. Scott Lance of Maryville, Missouri, was driving north when his vehicle left the road twice, entered a ditch, and struck a tree.
Authorities said Lance was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Iowa Department of Transportation reported that 189 people have died in crashes on Iowa roads this year, an increase of six fatalities compared to the same time last year.
