Lede: A rollover crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Boston caused significant traffic delays on Friday morning.
According to State Police, the incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. near Exit 131. A black vehicle reportedly crashed on the eastbound side, went over the barrier, and landed on its roof in the westbound lane.
Aerial footage indicated that the vehicle sustained extensive front-end damage. Emergency responders, including multiple police and fire units, were dispatched to the scene.
The westbound lanes of the Massachusetts Turnpike were closed for approximately 15 minutes while the car was removed. The driver suffered minor injuries but was alert and conscious when Emergency Medical Services arrived. They were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
