WASHINGTON (7NEWS) — An investigation is underway following a crash that caused a Metro to collide with the AMBAR Restaurant in Northwest D.C., injuring at least three individuals on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. on April 4 near 7th Street and Q Street, NW. According to officials, the bus was struck and careened into the building, resulting in the vehicle ending up partially inside the restaurant, which was unoccupied at the time.

Authorities reported that three adult women, including the bus driver, were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

Emergency response teams, including the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and D.C. Fire and EMS, arrived at the scene to secure the area. The bus was removed from the building just before noon.

Building Status
Following the extraction, fire officials confirmed the building's structural integrity was not compromised, requiring no shoring or additional support. Crews had previously secured utilities and conducted a thorough search of the premises.

The MPD and DC Fire and EMS are currently leading the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
