WILBUR, Ind. (WISH) — A man died Tuesday night after a vehicle struck his lawnmower on State Road 142, according to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the crash at approximately 8:01 p.m. in the 3400 block of State Road 142. Randy Lawson, 44, of Stilesville, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruz westbound when he collided with a Husqvarna riding lawnmower operated by Donald (Toby) Kirkley, 42, of Martinsville. Evidence indicated that the lawnmower was also traveling westbound.
Kirkley was pronounced dead at a local hospital, with an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday to determine the cause of death. According to authorities, Lawson was unharmed and is cooperating with the investigation, having submitted to a blood draw as per Indiana law.
