JACKSON, Miss. — A 31-year-old man in a wheelchair died in a hit-and-run incident on East McDowell Road.
The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of East McDowell Road. Authorities said a vehicle traveling east struck Denzel Smith, who was reportedly in the middle of the roadway, before fleeing the scene.
No description of the driver or the vehicle involved has been provided. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
