A two-vehicle crash on U.S. 33 outside Lancaster on Sunday evening left one person dead and another injured, authorities said.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Alvaro Uriber Gonzalez went off the road, overcorrected, and struck an SUV.
Authorities said the SUV's driver died from injuries. A passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment; their condition was not released.
The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office said Gonzalez was booked into the Fairfield County Jail and is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, driving while under the influence of alcohol, and operating without a license.
According to the Sheriff's Office, an ICE detainer has been placed on Gonzalez.
Troopers did not immediately release information on lane closures or tows. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
