LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A two-vehicle crash resulted in one fatality Tuesday morning in the west valley.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Harvard Street, near Decatur Boulevard.
Authorities said a 61-year-old man, who was attempting a left U-turn, unexpectedly continued turning before crashing into another vehicle, which was then pushed into a light pole.
The man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is awaiting the Clark County Coroner's Office report to determine the formal cause and manner of death before ruling it a traffic-related fatality.
A 45-year-old female occupant of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. According to police, impairment is not suspected to have played a role in the crash.
Emergency responders and LVMPD are currently investigating the incident. There were no lane closures reported as a result of the collision.
