GRAND RAPIDS — A man died in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning.

Authorities say the Grand Rapids Police Department received a call at 1:14 a.m. regarding a serious injury accident in the 1600 block of Golf Course Road. Investigators found a F-150 pickup truck had left the roadway, striking multiple trees.

The male driver, the sole occupant, received immediate medical attention but was shortly after, according to police. The victim's identity has not been disclosed.

Preliminary findings suggest that both alcohol and speed contributed to the incident, which remains under investigation. The Grand Rapids Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Itasca County Sheriff's Office, Grand Rapids Fire Department, and North Memorial Health Ambulance.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
