MAKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) — A 30-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the H-1 Freeway westbound on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the incident near the Alexander Street on-ramp around 2:41 p.m. The victim, a 30-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The incident resulted in the closure of three lanes on the freeway from Alexander Street to Keeaumoku Street, with all lanes reopening at approximately 3:57 p.m.
