LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man was arrested for crashing multiple pickup trucks and assaulting firefighters on August 1.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO), 35-year-old Cesar James first crashed a black pickup truck at 605 South Dixie Highway. He was found to be driving with a revoked license.
Initially investigated for possible DUI, James became uncooperative and verbally assaulted Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel, refusing medical transport to JFK Medical Center. Witnesses reported that he attempted to strike firefighters and allegedly punched one multiple times.
While in the emergency room, James continued his aggressive behavior towards medical staff and PBSO deputies, reportedly trying to hit an officer before being subdued and arrested.
On August 2, PBSO responded to another crash at the intersection of 6th Avenue South and Dixie Highway, where they found another black pickup truck crashed into a streetlamp. Authorities identified James as the driver of the stolen vehicle taken from a Boynton Beach residence.
James faces multiple charges, including grand theft of a motor vehicle, battery on a firefighter, and driving with a suspended license.
