LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A man was charged for driving under the influence following a vehicle crash in Ephrata Township on April 15.
The incident occurred around 12:13 a.m. in the 800 block of East Main Street. Christopher Ulrich, 49, was driving a Jeep Wrangler when he struck a pedestrian crossing sign and veered across the center median. The vehicle subsequently caught fire after the collision.
According to police, Ulrich did not sustain injuries but exhibited signs of impairment. A breath test reportedly indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .168%, exceeding Pennsylvania's legal limit.
Authorities charged Ulrich with two misdemeanor DUI offenses and cited him for three traffic violations. He is pending a preliminary arraignment.
