Overland Park, KS – October 7, 2023 – A two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 68-year-old woman on Metcalf Avenue on Friday around 6:15 p.m.
According to police, the woman was driving southbound when the accident occurred near 75th Street. Emergency responders from the Overland Park Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene, providing medical assistance to all involved.
Authorities reported that two vehicles were involved, and the woman suffered critical injuries. Despite immediate medical aid, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The southbound lanes of Metcalf Avenue were closed for several hours as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities stated that they are currently reviewing evidence and witness statements.
