Crash Closes Portion of Mammoth Road in Pelham, Leading to Power Outages
A section of Mammoth Road from Windham into Pelham is closed following a crash that caused downed wires.
Authorities reported Mammoth Road is shut down at Castle Hill Road. A News 9 crew, arriving at the scene around 4:30 a.m., observed a vehicle overturned near a downed telephone pole close to Brook View Road.
Eversource Energy confirmed that nearly 250 customers experienced power outages early Tuesday morning, with the number decreasing to about 200 by 6 a.m.
Tow crews arrived around 5 a.m. to remove the crashed vehicle. The condition of the driver is not yet confirmed, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Emergency response crews are advising drivers to avoid this area of Mammoth Road while power restoration efforts are underway.
