SHERMAN COUNTY, Neb. — A Loup City bicyclist died following a collision with a pickup truck on Sunday morning.
According to the Sherman County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highways 58 and 92. Deputies found the bicyclist in the south ditch upon arrival. He was subsequently airlifted to CHI Health-Good Samaritan in Kearney, where he died.
The bicyclist has been identified as 71-year-old Jan Markham of Loup City. Next of kin have been notified.
The incident remains under investigation by law enforcement. No further details about the crash or any potential charges have been released.
