Litchfield man dies in motorcycle crash.

LITCHFIELD, ME—A Litchfield man died in a crash on Route 197 on Wednesday evening.

Steven Caouette, 51, was riding a motorcycle shortly after 6 p.m. when he lost control on a curve, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office. He veered off the road and collided with a utility pole.

Authorities confirmed that Caouette was from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The collision caused the utility pole to snap, which obstructed the roadway.

Emergency responders were dispatched, and the road has since been cleared. The crash is under investigation.
