LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A vehicle-pedestrian collision on East Flamingo Road left a 42-year-old man with life-threatening injuries Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 9:14 p.m. on East Flamingo Road, east of South Topaz Street, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).
Witnesses reported that the pedestrian was crossing the roadway from south to north outside of any designated crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound 2013 Lexus ES350.
The vehicle, driven by a 72-year-old man, hit the pedestrian, projecting him into the westbound travel lanes. Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Trauma for advanced medical care, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
Authorities confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and exhibited no signs of impairment.
The LVMPD Collision Investigation Section is continuing to investigate the incident.
