LANCASTER, Ohio — A 36-year-old Lancaster man died in a single-vehicle crash on Horns Mill Road just before 2:45 a.m. June 10.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Lancaster Post, Ian McCoy, 36, was driving a 2013 Fiat 500 north when he lost control on a curve and went off the left side of the road. The car hit an embankment, overturned, and McCoy was ejected, authorities said.
McCoy was transported by Berne Township medics to Fairfield Medical Center and later transferred to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he died.
Authorities said McCoy was not wearing a safety belt and alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
