A Lake Ozark woman suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash on westbound U.S. 50 near Missouri Route 5 in Morgan County on Saturday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
The collision occurred around 11:44 a.m. when a 66-year-old Lake Ozark woman driving a 2022 Ford Expedition turned into the path of a westbound 2020 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer.
The impact caused extensive damage to both the semi and the SUV, resulting in serious injuries for the woman, who was transported to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
A third vehicle, a parked 2025 Ford Explorer driven by a 42-year-old Sedalia woman, was struck by debris but sustained only minor damage; the driver did not report any injuries.
The Freightliner driver, a 56-year-old man from Orlando, Florida, was not reported injured.
Both the Freightliner and the Ford Expedition were towed from the scene, while the Ford Explorer was able to be driven away.
