Juvenile Dies in Three-Vehicle Crash on Las Vegas Freeway
A juvenile died in a three-vehicle crash early Saturday on northbound Interstate 11/U.S. 95 just north of the Decatur Boulevard on-ramp, authorities said. The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on September 13.
According to Nevada State Police, a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta traveling north failed to slow down and struck the rear of a 2002 Toyota Sequoia SUV. The impact caused the Toyota to veer across several lanes, leading to a collision with a 2018 Audi A4.
The juvenile passenger in the Volkswagen was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the driver and passenger of the Volkswagen were not wearing seatbelts, authorities reported. The drivers of the Toyota and Audi were transported to local hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
This incident marks the 45th fatality in the jurisdiction of the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command Region One for this year. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
