SANDYSTON – State Police are investigating a hit-and-run involving a school bus and a pickup truck on Route 206, near Stokes Forest, Friday morning.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred while children were on board the Stocker Bus Co. vehicle, according to State Police.
Authorities stated that the pickup truck collided with the school bus and fled the scene; additional information is currently unavailable.
Photos on Stocker Bus Co.'s Facebook page show the bus at a stop and the severed mirror knocked off the pickup.
Witnesses reported that the bus driver had stopped due to a vehicle in front abruptly braking when the pickup truck swerved, striking the bus mirror before continuing south.
The accident occurred where the southbound lane transitions from two to one lane.
