Fire Closes Highway 99 Near Eugene
EUGENE, OR — A large fire has closed both lanes of Highway 99 west of Eugene this morning.
According to the Eugene Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. following a collision between a log truck and a semi-truck at the intersection of Greenhill Road and West 11th Avenue. One person was hospitalized due to the crash.
Greenhill Road will remain closed indefinitely from West 11th Avenue to Royal Avenue while an investigation and cleanup are conducted.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of the fire or the condition of the hospitalized individual.
