Idaho State Police Investigate Critical Pedestrian Crash on I-84 in Meridian.

MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — A 76-year-old Boise man was critically injured early July 12, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle on westbound Interstate 84.

The incident occurred around 2:37 a.m. near milepost 45. Authorities reported the was walking in the far-right lane when he was hit by a 2013 370Z driven by a 19-year-old man from Meridian.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, while the driver, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained no injuries.

Emergency response included the Idaho State Police, Meridian Police Department, Meridian Fire Department, and Ada County Paramedics, who closed the two far-right lanes of westbound I-84 for approximately three hours.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
