MANCHESTER, N.H. — A section of High Street in Somersworth reopened Tuesday evening following a crash near Market Basket, officials confirmed.

Emergency responders, including the Somersworth Fire Department, arrived at the scene around 6 p.m. Downed power lines left nearby businesses and homes without electricity.

Two Good Samaritans provided assistance at the scene. Witness Joshua Goodin reported, “I asked for anyone to help stop bleeding…people were giving me their clothes, like sweatshirts, t-shirts, whatever they had handy.” Fellow witness Ashley Daigle added, “I was just like, let's see if we can keep him talking…ask him about his age or any medical conditions.”

The condition of the driver has not been disclosed, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Emergency crews managed lane closures during recovery operations.

Authorities said that power restoration efforts are underway.
