DUNN CENTER, N.D. — Two commercial trucks collided on North Dakota Highway 200 east of Dunn Center at 7:07 a.m. on Sept. 30, resulting in serious injuries to both drivers, authorities said.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), a westbound truck driven by a 29-year-old man from Heidelberg, Miss., crossed the center line and struck an eastbound truck driven by a 63-year-old man from Fargo head-on. The eastbound truck tipped onto its side and slid into the south ditch, while the westbound truck came to a stop blocking both lanes of traffic.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries; one was airlifted to Trinity Hospital in Minot and the other to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. Their conditions are currently unknown.
The driver of the westbound truck faces multiple charges, including driving under suspension, reckless endangerment, and failure to maintain a single lane, according to NDHP. The roadway was cleared later that day, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
