Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Route 182 in Hancock
A motorcycle collision on Route 182 in Hancock Friday afternoon resulted in the death of 32-year-old Tyeler Grey from Franklin.
At approximately 3:44 p.m., 28-year-old Harold Moore of Mariaville made a left turn from Coffin Road onto Route 182, striking Grey, who was riding a northbound Buell motorcycle. Authorities reported that Grey suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Moore and two passengers in his sedan were unharmed. According to the Hancock Fire Department, Route 182 was closed due to the incident and reopened at 6:50 p.m.
The Hancock County Sheriff's Department is investigating, led by Detective Rick Canarr. The Maine State Police, Maine Forest Service, Maine Marine Patrol, Hancock Fire Department, and surrounding fire departments provided assistance at the scene.
