NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. — Six individuals were hospitalized, four with serious injuries, following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 Sunday afternoon.
According to New Hampshire State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on the southbound side near mile marker 7.6, north of the Hampton Tolls. A Toyota Avalon, driven by a 29-year-old from New Bedford, Massachusetts, collided with a GMC Sierra operated by a 33-year-old from Plaistow. This impact caused the Avalon to cross the median and strike a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 71-year-old from Newburyport, Massachusetts.
Authorities confirmed that the 29-year-old driver and an adult passenger sustained life-threatening injuries, while the 71-year-old driver and a juvenile passenger in the Avalon suffered serious injuries. Two individuals required extrication from their vehicles.
Emergency services, including North Hampton Fire & Rescue, responded promptly. The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for about 45 minutes, with one lane reopening around 6 p.m. All lanes were cleared by 10 p.m.
