MADISON (WKOW) — Five people were following a crash on westbound Interstate 90 near Lien Road on Thursday at 4 p.m.

The incident involved two semis and a Pilot, resulting in significant damage to the Pilot, which ended up positioned in front of one of the semi-trucks, according to the Madison Fire Department (MFD).

Four occupants of the Pilot—three children and one adult—were extricated by bystanders before emergency responders arrived. All four sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital, MFD spokesperson Cynthia Schuster confirmed.

One semi driver requested medical assistance and was taken to the hospital by Sun Prairie EMS, while the other driver reported no injuries.

MFD dispatched Engine 5 and Medic 10 to the scene, with additional units arriving due to reports of multiple injured parties. Engine 5 reached the location at 4:09 p.m.

Wisconsin State Patrol remained on site for the ongoing investigation following MFD's departure.
