A Fayette man died in a car crash in Howard County early Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the incident occurred at 2:15 a.m. on Missouri Route 124 at County Road 103. According to authorities, the 28-year-old driver was operating a 2015 Dodge Journey when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road.
The vehicle then crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side, became airborne, overturned, and landed in a creek. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
MSHP noted the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
