LAS VEGAS, NV (KTNV) — One person is dead following a crash near the Las Vegas Strip early Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:17 a.m. on Sammy Davis Jr. Drive near Resorts World Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). A woman crossed diagonally against the pedestrian control signal and outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a northbound 2025 Toyota Prius.
Authorities said the pedestrian fell while crossing, leading to the collision. She was transported to UMC Trauma Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. This incident marks the 66th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD's jurisdiction for the year 2026.
The LVMPD's Collision Investigation Section is currently investigating the incident.
