BEDFORD, N.H. — Eugene Mirman, 51, known for voicing Gene Belcher on “Bob's Burgers,” was injured in a crash at the Bedford tolls on Tuesday.

Mirman collided with the toll area while driving a Lucid Gravity, resulting in his vehicle becoming engulfed in flames. He was rescued by bystanders, including Governor Kelly Ayotte and her security detail, shortly before noon.

New Hampshire State Police confirmed Mirman was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Col. Mark Hall reported that a trooper assigned to Ayotte's detail, along with other individuals, pulled Mirman from the burning through a window.

Mirman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. His agent, Jay Gassner, thanked the bystanders, first responders, and hospital staff for their assistance. “Eugene was in a very scary car accident. He is grateful to be on the mend,” Gassner said, requesting privacy for Mirman and his family as he recovers.

Litchfield Fire Chief Doug Nicoll noted that the vehicle contained approximately 8,000 battery cells, which could ignite in a process known as thermal runaway, leading to rapid combustion.

The incident remains under investigation, and lane closures occurred in the area during the response.
