An 18-year-old man died Tuesday night following a motorcycle crash on the Kalaeloa Boulevard off-ramp in Kapolei, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:59 p.m. on the eastbound off-ramp near Farrington Highway. Authorities reported that the rider was traveling east at a high speed when he lost control and struck a concrete barrier.
Emergency Medical Services personnel treated the victim on the scene before transporting him to a hospital in serious condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police confirmed that the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Investigators indicated that speed was a contributing factor in the collision; however, it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved.
This marks Oahu's 21st traffic fatality of 2026, compared to 39 fatalities at the same time last year.
