Eastbound I-70 Closed After Fatal Rollover Crash in Wheat Ridge
Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed in Wheat Ridge following a rollover crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old early Saturday morning, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. between Ward Road and Kipling Street. An 18-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene, while three individuals suffered serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Officials stated that their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Wheat Ridge Police announced via social media that traffic is being diverted to Ward Road as the eastbound lanes will remain closed “for the foreseeable future.” State traffic cameras are showing heavy delays in the area of the crash.
