A 32-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Beechs Mill Road on May 17, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Officials reported that Gerardo Favela-Gonzalez was a passenger in a pickup truck that ran off the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.
Favela-Gonzalez was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver sustained injuries, though their identity and the nature of the injuries have not been disclosed.
Authorities indicated that the crash remains under investigation and that charges may be forthcoming.
