Emergency services responded to a car crash in Cole County that required extrication on Thursday.
On August 20 at 5:14 p.m., Cole County Emergency Services, Regional West Fire Protection District, Cole County Sheriff's Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) received reports of a motor vehicle crash in the 9600 block of Highway 50, near Centertown.
According to a crash report, a 2004 Dodge Durango experienced a tire failure, slid off the road, and overturned in the median. The 28-year-old male driver from Gorin, Mo. was trapped inside.
Regional West Fire Protection District personnel stabilized the vehicle and utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extract the driver.
A medical helicopter from MU Health was dispatched but was later canceled when paramedics determined the driver's injuries were not serious enough for air transport.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital by ambulance. MSHP confirmed the driver was wearing a seat belt during the incident.
