LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A driver died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Pahrump on Saturday evening, state authorities reported.

The collision occurred at approximately 7:53 p.m. on July 25 at the intersection of Manse Road and Money Street, according to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol.

Investigators determined that a 2015 Sentra traveling south on Money failed to yield at a stop sign, colliding with a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. The impact resulted in significant damage to the .

The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as 61-year-old Michael Todd Lewis of Pahrump, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but was later . Authorities confirmed that Lewis was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Nissan was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lewis' death marks the 41st fatality reported in the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command jurisdiction this year. The incident remains under investigation.
