Driver Killed in Fiery Crash in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – A driver was killed early Tuesday morning in a crash involving an SUV that went airborne on the North Side. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on West Bitters Road near Blanco Road.
According to police, the driver of a white SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck a curb and an embankment. This caused the SUV to become airborne, crashing through a wooden fence before colliding with several parked vehicles and damaging two covered parking structures.
The SUV ultimately rolled onto its side and burst into flames. The driver was found deceased inside the vehicle.
No other injuries were reported at the scene. Police confirmed that their investigation into the crash is ongoing.
