Driver Injured in High-Speed Chase and Crash on Cape Cod, Police Report.

A driver was Thursday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase following a crash on Route 132.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, Barnstable Police notified troopers just before 11:30 a.m. that the driver of a F150 had fled the scene of a two- collision. Details on injuries from that initial crash were not disclosed.

The driver continued onto Route 6 west, reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour. Troopers positioned down the highway activated stop sticks in an attempt to halt the vehicle.

At approximately 11:31 a.m., the F150 swerved through traffic and crashed into another vehicle. Following the crash, troopers deployed stop sticks, concluding the pursuit.

The driver, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. Authorities have not released his name or any potential charges.

The crash remains under investigation by state police, and further information is not yet available.
