FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A driver was killed after crashing into a palm tree on Kearney Avenue on Saturday evening.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the solo vehicle accident around 5:05 p.m. in the area of Kearney Avenue, west of Dickenson.
Investigating authorities reported that a Chevy Malibu was traveling westbound at a high speed when the driver lost control, veering south off the roadway. The vehicle struck a palm tree, resulting in the driver being ejected.
Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP officials indicated that alcohol may have contributed to the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available regarding lane closures or tows.
