FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A driver was killed after crashing into a palm tree on Kearney Avenue Saturday evening.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 5 p.m. to a solo vehicle accident west of Dickenson Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Chevy Malibu was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway and struck a palm tree.
The impact led to the driver being ejected from the vehicle. Despite efforts to provide life-saving measures, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the incident and have noted that alcohol may have been a contributing factor. There were no additional injuries reported.
