LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A driver died two weeks following a crash on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder) near the Blue Lick Overpass.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:10 a.m. on September 5. A vehicle was disabled in the area, prompting the driver to exit the vehicle and cross to the shoulder of the highway. While on the shoulder, he was struck by another vehicle.
The driver of the car that hit him remained at the scene. Emergency responders transported the man to the hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition.
On Friday, authorities announced that the man succumbed to his injuries. The coroner has not yet disclosed his identity.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
