Driver Killed, Two Injured in Lincoln County Crash
LINCOLN COUNTY, Miss. — A fatal crash occurred on Highway 51 at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, resulting in one death and two injuries.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), 23-year-old Jay Hux of Summit was driving a 2009 Isuzu NPR when he ran off the highway and collided with a tree. Hux was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers, 28-year-old Michael Querns and 20-year-old Cevonte Lewis, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. No lane closures or further details regarding the vehicle's condition were provided at this time.
