WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A driver died after crashing into the Intracoastal Waterway early Monday morning, according to police.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and Flagler Drive at approximately 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle had collided with the seawall and subsequently entered the water.
The driver was extricated from the water and transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the driver and specifics of any injuries have not yet been released.
The incident is currently under investigation by authorities. The crash follows another incident at the same intersection last week, where a truck plunged into the Intracoastal Waterway, but both occupants were rescued without fatal injuries.
Officials are advising motorists of possible lane closures while the investigation continues.
