WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A 26-year-old man died Friday night after his pickup truck crashed into two vehicles and overturned on Southern Boulevard.
Joseph Taylor Alvarez was ejected from his 1990 Chevrolet pickup during the incident that occurred around 10:05 p.m. on January 9, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Traffic Division. He was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said Alvarez was driving eastbound in the left lane when he sped past two vehicles in the left-center lane. The right front of his truck collided with the left front of both vehicles before he veered right, struck the guardrail, overturned, and hit a streetlight pole.
All occupants of the other vehicles were wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries. Roadway closures were enacted as first responders handled the scene.
