HOUSTON (WKRC) — A Texas woman faces second-degree manslaughter charges after allegedly striking and killing a man with her Porsche while intoxicated early on April 19, 2023.
According to authorities, Kristina Chambers, 34, was driving her Porsche 911 Carrera at approximately 70 mph around 2 a.m. when she hit a curb and collided with 33-year-old Joseph McMullin on a sidewalk near a Houston donut shop.
Reports indicate that McMullin was propelled 30 feet into the air due to the impact. Chambers' blood alcohol content was measured at .301, nearly four times the legal limit, and cocaine was found in her vehicle and purse, as reported by the Houston Chronicle.
Two passengers in Chambers' car were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her attorney, Mark Thiessen, claimed that the crash resulted from her Christian Louboutin heels getting stuck on the gas pedal, stating, “This is one of Houston's most dangerous curves.”
McMullin's family has filed a $1 million civil lawsuit against Chambers. If convicted of manslaughter, she could face a prison sentence ranging from two to 20 years, according to Fox 26. The investigation is ongoing.
