MINNEAPOLIS (WKRC) – Two Good Samaritans discovered a dead body in a vehicle after attempting to assist a woman involved in a crash on Interstate 90 at approximately 7 a.m. on June 22, 2024.

According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Margot Lewis crashed her and was found sitting on a lawn chair in the median. In their search of the vehicle, authorities located a deceased 35-year-old female in the back seat. The condition of the body raised suspicions that the death was not related to the accident.

MPR News reported that Lewis was uncooperative with officers upon their arrival. Investigators later examined the victim's residence at about 2:30 p.m. on the same day. KROC noted that evidence indicating violence was discovered at the scene.

Law & Crime revealed additional findings at the victim's home, including a missing knife, a bloody object, and the presence of antifreeze and a shovel. The deceased was identified as Liara Tsai, Lewis' ex-girlfriend.

On Monday, Lewis was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder.
